Reds Use New Rocket Public Safety Item

In Saigon communist guerrillas employed a new rocket device during clashes with U S Army forces. Eleven Americans were killed and forty three were wounded in the confrontations.

Injunction To Limit Picketing At Globe Union Plant

Globe Union obtained a temporary injunction to limit picketing to five at the local battery plant. Judge Rob ert W. Larrow signed the order in Burlington, with attorney R. Marshall Witten representing Globe Union. UAW Local 1371 members were due to receive the court action later today as production remains halted since Monday after a strike vote. Williams cited safety concerns from the size and conduct of pickets, which have included up to 35 people circling the access road, while union members deny blocking non striking workers. County sheriffs reported no entry block since the strike began.

Listers Strike Back At Sleeman Charges

Bennington board replies to Dr Richard Sleeman accusing listers of under assessing 200 properties. Chairman Francis J Hogan cites math disputes and cites Main Street and industrial parcels while defending current valuations and noting recent sales support the listers' appraisals. The letter urges Sleeman to specify properties involved and cannot name the exact parcels.

Thieves Foiled In Bennington Garage Break And Computer Center

In Bennington last night two burglars fled into the Lyons District woods after a break in at Al Davis garage was detected. Earlier a separate entry was made at the Southern Vermont Computer Center via a rear door through the Flint Ink plant. No thefts reported. fingerprints being lifted as officers investigate.

Ky Pushes South Vietnam Troop Rise and Summit Plan

Premier Nguyen Cao Ky announced South Vietnam will raise 50 000 to 65 000 additional troops to reach 700 000 while seeking a Vietnam war summit in October. Collections Fall Short Of 67 Fiscal Estimates

Vermont fiscal 1967 tax receipts totaled 49.7 million, up from 43.8 million a year earlier, but fell 1.6 million short of January estimates. Major gains came from income and franchise taxes and several categories, while losses occurred in income tax, cigarettes, and liquor.
