Stratton Faces Introspection as Top Posts Shake Up
Stratton Corp president Harvey Clifford said the ski resort is in a period of introspection about goals and future plans and that no major policy statements will be issued for about a month. Marketing chief David Meinertz was fired, with unclear reasons, after two months in post, while executives Lechthaler Layman and Clifford resigned in a broader management shakeup. Clifford disclosed NSAA executive director Cal Coniff will not join Stratton, citing personal reasons, and noted leadership will be split between ski operations and off mountain activities with no replacement named yet for hotels and condominiums. Meinertz’s marketing plan will be reviewed by directors.
