Old Bennington votes to surrender charter for unification

In Old Bennington residents approved unification with Big Bennington by 43-38, 81 ballots cast, 54 percent turnout. It becomes the second local charter surrender since the Unification Act passed last spring, following Bennington village’s June vote. North Bennington plans a Aug 11 vote. Rural Fire District 1 may vote soon.

Poll shows Davis trailing in Vermont governor race

A Salisbury poll estimates Gov. Deane C. Davis would lose to Daley 57 43 and to O'Brien 55 45 in the governor's race. Addonizio Convicted of Extortion and Conspiracy in Newark
