State Billboard Hearing Postponed
A Vermont Chancery Court hearing in a Pittsfield outdoor advertising case against the secretary of state was moved from Monday to Thursday. Maurice Callahan and Sons obtained a temporary injunction blocking removal orders for four Bennington signs, while the court weighs whether to make the injunction permanent or dismiss. Secretary Howard E. Armstrong cited state law to regulate highway billboards and argued the Bennington signs lie too close to the highway for the area’s rural character.
