Four milking cows perished when a 149 by 28 foot barn on the Roger Mosely farm on West Hoosick Road burned Sunday night. Five fire companies responded including West Hoosick, Hoosick, Buskirk, Johnsonville and North Hoosick. Fire officials cited an electric fence as the possible cause. a few pieces of farm machinery were also lost.

The Sterling Woodwind Ensemble of Vermont Symphony members in residence at Johnson State College presents a summer program at the McCullough Mansion. The concert features instrument combinations including a Vivaldi sonata and a Study for Solo Clarinet with Electronic extensions by Charles Whitby.
Readout of the Bullhead Pond 4-H Horse Show held June 29 in Manchester with winners across 18 classes including junior and senior fittings, equitation, jump, pleasure, and trail events. Top honors include Champion junior Cindy Pelletier on Blackjack and Champion senior Susan Ploof on Ronnie.
