Robert C. Young of Burlington Electric Department has been elected a director of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Corporation by stockholders on June 27 to replace William A. Stebbins who retires July 1. The utility owns 3.5 percent of voting stock and serves as sponsor alongside Burlington.
Reginald A. Barnard is appointed division manager for the Bennington and Manchester area replacing Richard F. Bower who moves to CVPS in Rutland and to lobbying in Montpelier. Barnard will oversee marketing customer services operations and accounting, aiming to bring the company closer to the public. He is a Brandon native commuting to Bennington and has 27 years with Central Vermont, starting as a meter reader in 1948.
A $98 700 grant from the New England Regional Commission supports a Vermont Travel Information Planning System. The Agency of Development and Community Affairs will run the program to aid visitors during the 1976 Bicentennial, expanding info operations in New England and Vermont with state welcome centers and official info booths. Publicity covers the Northeast and eastern Canada.
