Hanoi Must Modify Demands in Vietnam Talks
Paris United Press reports U S Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge told the Communists no negotiated settlement is possible until Hanoi and the Viet Cong modify their demand for total unconditional withdrawal of U S troops. Lodge welcomed the humanitarian release of three American prisoners and urged more such steps. He criticized the withdrawal demand as unreasonable and said negotiations are possible only with mutual withdrawal. Dellinger of Brooklyn negotiated with U S officials on behalf of the captives amid fears they could be recaptured or brainwashed. Xuan Thuy accused President Nixon of delaying peace and said U S raids July 7-8 caused damage, while pledging to proceed with the prisoner releases.

Bennington Tax Appeals Hearings Set After Results List
