Santway cites oil decontrol as government by bureaucracy
Democratic candidate Robert W. Santway argues the oil decontrol bill shows Congress in thrall to Washington influence. He says price decisions for home heating oil diesel and kerosene came from an agreement between Congress and the Federal Energy Administration director Frank Zarb and that Congress should own the outcome. He claims Vermont’s delegation did not argue the issue and cites voter power and connections as key in Congress.
