Pownal Man Killed After Attempting To Seek Help
William A. Cone 23 of Bennington Pownal Road Pownal died at 3 30 am Sunday after being struck by a car on Route 22 in North Hoosick while trying to flag down assistance following his own vehicle’s accident. The hit run driver Gerald Van DerKar 28 Hoosick Falls was later involved in a crash in Eagle Bridge and charged with leaving the scene driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right. Cone, born June 13 1948, leaves a wife Patricia and three children. Funeral set Tuesday at Hanson Walbridge with entombment at Park Lawn Chapel.
