South Korean Official Advocates Bombing All North Korean Cities
South Korea’s CIA vice director Lee Byung Doo urged the United States to retaliate by bombing multiple North Korean cities to deter invasion after the Pueblo hijacking. He warned a limited attack would fail and said a large-scale strike could force Kim Il Sung to back down. Separately, about 100,000 Seoul residents protested in the streets demanding punishment for the Pueblo seizure and the North's assassination attempt on President Park.
