Bennington County historic sites inventory 1972 report
A four member committee of the Bennington County Regional Commission began a 1972 survey of almost 300 historic places using 13 criteria. The State register records, town booklets list sites, and towns receive copies. The bicentennial boosts preservation with 1.2 million dollars federal funding for VT2 rail route projects.
