Bennington district set to gain more state aid in 1975
The Bennington School District remains the only district in Bennington County to expect higher state aid in 1975 than in 1974, while other county districts anticipate reductions. Figures from the State Education Department depend on the state budget and potential $33.8 million education appropriation. Bennington's 1974 aid was $1.31 million. 1975 projected at $1.41 million, with Shafts bury Arlington and others facing cuts. North Bennington and Pownal also see declines, and 11 towns sit on the state aid floor with a $50 ADM payment included. These shifts follow the Miller formula and possible legislative adjustments.
