Charges reveal Ford GM price fixing scheme
UPI. A federal indictment charges Ford and General Motors with leading a series of summit meetings with Chrysler and other executives to fix fleet car prices and share strike burdens. The 24 page bill of particulars names Edward N. Cole, Henry Ford III, Arjay Miller, Lynn Townsend, John Riccardo, Lee Iacocca and James Roche among attendees. Chrysler’s Lynn Townsend disclosed limits on participation at a May 12 1970 meeting.

U S planes strike targets near Saigon in heavy raids
UPI reports heavy U S air operations around Saigon with 83 jets in action over South Vietnam. The strikes supported South Vietnamese ground forces amid a major battle near the capital, with several sorties within 40 miles of Saigon and bombing near Tri Tam and a Michelin rubber plantation. In Cambodia a Mekong convoy carrying supplies moved toward Phnom Penh under U S escort as air cover kept the route open. One U S bomb hit a South Vietnamese position near Hiep Duc killing one soldier and wounding four.

Extortionists kill banker and family in Grandin Mo
In Grandin Missouri a bank president Robert Kitterman 43 his wife Bertha 34 and their daughter Roberta 16 were found bound and shot to death in a woods near an abandoned farm. Kitterman had entered the Bank of Grandin earlier and claimed to be wired with dynamite as he took about 19000 dollars. Police say two men strangers to town were questioned as suspects while a county coroner noted the bodies appeared to have been dead about 45 minutes before discovery.
