Falls teacher and daughter die in auto crash in Colonie
Hoosick Falls teacher William Gilchrest age 45 and his nine year old daughter Karen died Saturday afternoon in a collision on Route 155 at Airport Road Colonie. Gilchrest taught elementary physical education at Hoosick Falls Central School and chaired the Weir Reynolds Community Swimming Pool project. He directed summer operations at the pool for four years and was known for discipline and dedication.

Hoosick Falls man dies in crash at White Creek
Hoosick Falls, N.Y. resident Joseph E. Graney, 59, died in a Sunday early morning one car crash on Route 22 in White Creek while returning from the Cambridge Hotel. The 1970 Ford sedan left the highway, overturned, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is pending. Graney, a longtime local bartender, is survived by a wife, a daughter, a son, six brothers, a sister, seven grandchildren, and other relatives. Funeral arrangements were announced by Mahar Funeral Home.
