House Seal To Reflect State Changes
The House plans a new Great Seal reflecting Alaska and Hawaii statehood. A $700 outlay covers die cutting and a mechanical engraver to imprint the seal on official papers. The current seal, used since 1912, shows 48 six pointed stars. the new design will display 50 stars.

Church Women Hold Annual Meeting in Bennington
Sixty five women attended the Bennington Council of United Church Women luncheon and annual meeting at the Baptist Church. Miss Marion Hardy presided as president. A $200 vote funded a delegate to the National Council of Churches in Kansas City in October. Officers elected: President Mrs Leroy Marsden 1st VP Mrs Carl Jolivette 2nd VP Mrs George Jenkins Secretary Mrs Robert Gibbs Treasurer Miss Carolyn Clark. A World Day of Prayer event is planned for February 14 at Old First Church. A film on the relief ship Hope showcased Indonesia medical missionary work.
