Hoff Budget Outlook for Vermont Expands State Spending
Governor Hoff's budget projects a faster growth in Vermont's economy, enabling a 20 percent spending boost funded by tax revenue, plus about 15 million in highway bonds and 17 million in capital bonds. Kearns and advisers foresee revenue rises, with potential surpluses offsetting a prior deficit, while lawmakers weigh spending vs. restraint amid expected tax changes and bold projections.
