Rabies cases rise as Vermont reports fox and dog incident
Vermont reports its first rabies case of the year from a fox shot at Cubit farm in Irasburg with a dog destroyed after a clash. A second recent fox kill in Barton adds to seven proven rabies cases in 1964, while 1965 shows one case so far. Officials note wild rabies concentrated in Orleans County and caution the figures reflect test submissions, not forest prevalence.
