Vermont manpower officials urged Washington on Friday to provide additional aid to hire unemployed workers for public service jobs as the state faced a rapidly rising unemployment rate.
Senator elect Patrick Leahy of Vermont says Congress will not authorize more aid to South Vietnam and questions possible military intervention.
