Sunderland school trial delayed as snow halts schedule
A second pre-trial conference in the Sunderland Elementary School lawsuit was canceled due to a judge's schedule and reduced urgency amid ongoing repairs. The $500,000 suit targets eight design and construction firms over structural problems at the 120-student modular school, which was closed after a weekend snowstorm. Repairs aim to reinforce supports, fix the roof, and secure modular beams, with Phase I contract awarded to Gerald P. Morrissey Inc. Work should finish in about five weeks.

40 Hour Week Plan Draws Vermont Union Fire
Montpelier UPI The Vermont State Employes Association chief called Gov Salmon's proposal to raise the state work week from 37 to 40 hours totally unacceptable. Robert Babcock Jr said the move would yield only about a four percent net pay increase, far below Salmon's 10.1 percent target, and would not keep pace with inflation.
