Birds Are Fewer This Winter In New England
Lincoln Mass based report shows a general drop in common winter birds across New England with fewer chickadees and slate colored juncos noted. Concord counts reveal 2 106 juncos and 2 559 blue jays while tree sparrows hit 1 221 yet overall chickadee numbers fall significantly. Observers cite possible artificial factors and lack of migration southward for the decline.
