Man killed in North Adams fire

A two alarm blaze on State Street in North Adams, Massachusetts killed one man identified as Alfred Johnson and injured several others including fireman Anthony L. Guerino who rescued tenants and collapsed inside the building. The Wellington Hotel complex housed stores, offices, and upper apartment units heavily damaged by smoke and water. Police and officials noted the scene and related damage as crews fought the fire early today.

East Arlington woman dies in Manchester traffic crash

Mrs. Constance M. Jordan 46 of East Arlington dies when her Volkswagen collides head on with a loaded 15 ton dump truck on Route 7 near Dellwood Corner.
