Alfred Laber Milton King and Claude Casey described elk attempts and successful mule deer and antelope takes and shared Laber’s forest service experiences. They drove straight to Montana and back to maximize hunting time, hunting east of the Continental Divide where winters are milder in valleys, with open grassy terrain at lower elevations and dense forests higher up.
