Accountant Says Dr Furcolo Gave Him Hancock Track Stock
Springfield accountant Charles R. Carson testified in Suffolk Superior Court about supposed stock gifts from Dr Charles F. Furcolo in a dispute over Hancock Raceway ownership. Carson claimed Furcolo offered stock, contracts, and a $10 000 comptroller position plus a $5 000 annual director fee and said he worried Foster Furcolo’s 1960 Senate bid would expose the arrangement. The bond backing the stock, about 150 000 dollars, was reportedly misplaced and a search was ordered.
