VEA Opposes Measure in Vermont Education Reform
Miss Ruth Spooner, president of the Vermont Education Association, argues Section 5 of S. 1119 would let the governor appoint the state education commissioner. The VEA warns this would politicize education and centralize control, risking quality and attracting politicians over qualified candidates for the post.
