Track Seeks Better Split with State

MONTPELIER. Green Mountain Park horse track earned 434,321 last year, narrowing its two year deficit to 489,000. Gov. Hoff released the figures after an accounting by State Finance Director Bruce Mosher. Temporary state assistance totaled 1 million, meaning the track would have shown a 603,679 loss without the adjustment. Track officials seek continued adjustment of the 18 percent total take, shared 10 percent by the track and 8 percent by the state.
