American Church in Paris Serves Protestants Abroad
The Rev. Martin Van Buren Sargent leads the historic American Church in Paris noted for more than worship. It runs banks for soldiers on leave, a Paris Alcoholics Anonymous chapter, a bilingual nursery, and rooms for the American College in Paris. The church began in 1814, moved to Quai d Orsay in 1931, and welcomes a diverse congregation with diplomats, military, and business staff. The church holds about 500 seats but has under 200 members, and its vault stores unclaimed silver items from World War II.

White Pastor Builds Church For Negroes
Dillon South Carolina AP report about Dr. Fred J. Hay a 70 year old retired Presbyterian minister who built a church for his Negro neighbors over six months with help from locals. The 42 by 22 foot building seats 150 sits on property valued at 1000 dollars and the property and church together are valued around 9000. He says racial matters played little part and aimed to encourage a faithful small Presbyterian congregation ready for dedication once a date is agreed.
