Ferrisburg Landmark Destroyed by Fire

A pre-dawn fire destroyed the Canon home in Ferrisburg Vermont a long time local landmark. The two story brick house owned by a Vergennes realtor was over half burned when firefighters arrived. Three surrounding barns loaded with hay were saved. Fire Chief Ralph J. Jackman said the blaze likely spread from a kitchen oil burner. The house was unoccupied.
