TOKYO UPI Radio Hanoi confirmed Ho Chi Minh invited President Johnson to Hanoi to discuss peace during the Tet cease fire. The invitation came via a New York clergyman visiting Hanoi. Thant urged an indefinite and unconditional extension of the Lunar New Year cease-fire to move toward talks.

North Viet Uses Truce To Build Up Forces

U S scout planes and ships report North Vietnam has used a four day cease fire to flood South Vietnam with arms. American sources say the saturation supply pull has undercut hopes for extending the truce. A U S commander urged resuming bombing as North Vietnamese ships trains and trucks pour arms to guerrillas. No immediate bombing restart was certain before the truce ends Sunday.
