Surprise nominations shake GOP caucus crowd at Armory
A record crowd of over 250 Republicans at the town caucus witnessed surprise nominations. Alma Langlois, longtime selectmen's agent, was nominated for treasurer, while Hamilton L. Shields, ex Old Bennington village chairman, won the three year term as sister defeating Dr. Richard Sleeman who had been the only announced candidate. Hogan declined to run again, clearing the field for Langlois.
