Fire ravages historic Topping Tavern in Shaftsbury

YIC makes helpful inroads in Arlington

David Wilner of the Youth Information Center operated a mobile outreach, YIC on Wheels, around Arlington sites to distribute informational literature on drugs alcohol and sex. In 3.5 months he met 158 people including 90 youths and 68 adults and handed out 126 pieces of literature.

Bennington Summers program in critical faculty talks

Faculty and trustees at Bennington College pressed Friday night in ongoing talks over the Bennington Summers program. President Iseman and planner Omar Lerman led discussions amid faculty opposition over lack of consultation, with potential losses of $100,000 already invested and fears of further trustees resignations if the program is scrapped.

Bennington Wins Overnight on Vermont Industrial Tour

A September 1975 plan to stop Bennington only for a whistle stop was replaced after Bennington Chamber of Commerce leaders pressed for an overnight stay. The itinerary was adjusted to bring the 30 industrialists from Vernon at 3 p.m. for a bus tour, a view of the Bennington County Industrial Commission building site, and lodging at the Paradise Motor Inn.

Winter logging not easy in bitter cold
