Chain distributorship fraud outlawed under Vermont rule CF 100
Vermont’s first Consumer Fraud Rule CF 100 took effect Thursday to curb chain distributorship schemes. The rule targets promoters who lure buyers with promised profits from distributorships and sales to others, often risking investments from $1,500 to $7,500. Citizens are advised to record solicitors’ details and report to the Consumer Protection Bureau.
