Hearst Trial Witness Could Be Key Defense Emblem
Patricia Hearst's attorney vaunts former fiancé Steven Weed as his top witness in the bank robbery case. Weed, who lived with Hearst in Berkeley, recounts her abduction by the SLA on February 4, 1974. Bailey says Weed will describe Hearst's fear and resistance during the assault, aiming to cast doubt on her status as an unwilling victim.
