Of Mice and Men TV adaptation praised by critics
Television critic notes John Steinbeck's drama remains powerful after decades. ABC telecast a two hour version directed by Ted Kotcheff with Nicol Williamson and George Segal delivering strong performances. Will Geer also shines as Candy in the broadcast seen as a season highlight. The piece emphasizes Steinbeck's humane themes and lack of true villains.
