Hoyt Bill on land use taxation heads to Vermont debate

Hoyt, author of a land use tax measure, will address the Vermont Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs January 11 at Randolph Fish and Game Club. The bill's aim is to tax lands by use rather than market value, impacting timber and farm lands, and linking posting with tax relief. The Federation frames posting as a way to keep open land for recreation while shifting tax burdens, a point contested by the Farm Bureau amid a high-stakes legislative session.
