Poll shows congress favors curtailment of spending over tax increases
A UPI poll of the 90th Congress finds 66 percent oppose tax increases to fund Vietnam or inflation, while 80 percent favor cutting domestic programs such as the war on poverty. The survey, noting bipartisan support for curtailing spending, signals major reductions for Great Society programs in 1967.
