Full Military Funeral Planned For Dead GI Without Relatives
In San Francisco the Army will grant Sgt. Richard F. Campos a full military funeral if no next of kin is found. Campos, 26, was killed in Vietnam and is the only unclaimed U.S. service member among more than 6,000. The Army stresses it seeks relatives, not mourners, while considering burial with full honors if none appear. His troubled upbringing and years in foster care are noted as background to his solitary life.
