Mt Anthony students survey local drug scene in poll
Mt Anthony Union High School students report results from a Monitor poll of 1 106 youths aged 11 to 18 on drug use. About 10 percent have tried marijuana, 4 percent use it regularly, with 34 trying LSD and 16 using it regularly. Morphine and heroin use also appear, with 24 and 17 trying morphine and heroin respectively. Fifty five percent say there is a local drug problem, and editors note numbers were refined by discarding questionable ballots. Students call for drug education and counseling, with support for expert speakers and public forums.
