Northeast Airlines Buy Offers Leave Directors Silent
New York UPI report says Northeast Airlines directors remained non-committal on cash offers to buy the line or its Florida business after a closed meeting. Offers from Trans Caribbean and others would end the court fight over trunk-line status if accepted. A separate injunction targets World Airways and others over alleged illegal charter flights to Florida, Hawaii, with a $2 million potential loss cited by Northeast. Judge Sullivan schedules Dec. 28 for a permanent injunction vote.
