Roger Gordon Lawson a 30 year old auto broker from Valley View Drive Pownal was crushed while loading or unloading a car at Beckwith Motors on Route 7 Middlebury. Police say the winch engaged trapping him between the car and truck cab. Autopsy cites asphyxiation by crushing. Lawson had worked in auto sales and was pronounced dead at the scene with body later moved for funeral services. Police continue investigation into power cut and how the winch was turned off.
