Book Reviews Highlight Lugosi and Goering Biographies
A cluster of reviews covers The Count by Arthur Lennig, tracing Bela Lugosi from matinee idol to Dracula enduring as a legend while noting his decline and wealth. The Reich Marshal by Leonard Mosley receives critique for a readable early life but thin WWII detail and a glancing Nuremberg ending. China Today and Her Ancient Treasures by Joan and Jerome Cohen offers visual and textual insight into modern China’s state and imperial past. On High Steel by Mike Cherry profiles ironworkers with humor and nerve, while Churchill by Elizabeth Longford is a lavish authorized pictorial life of the British leader, praised for style though noted as not a strict biography.
