NFL Deadlock Could Pull Christmas Day Playoffs
UPI reports the NFL may resolve a two or three way tie in the Eastern or Western divisions on Christmas Day. If the Western race ends tied Green Bay and Baltimore would meet in Baltimore for the playoff, and an Eastern tie between Dallas and St Louis or Cleveland would be played in Dallas. A triple East tie would see Cleveland get a bye and host the St Louis Dallas winner, with the St Louis game on Christmas Day and the Cleveland game on New Year’s Day, delaying the championship by a week.
