Manchester Tribute to Otto Condermann
Otto Condermann a longtime Manchester figure dies, leaving a community void. Born in Brooklyn in 1904 he supported Red Cross blood drawings and chaired Bennington County for a decade, gave over five gallons of blood, aided Welfare and Nursing Association drives, and was known for a sunny Gemutlichkeit. A bachelor who joked about marriages, his memorial fund supports the Welfare Association. Also notes on local happenings include Patty Norse’s pneumonia recovery and plans of Phyllis Fenner and Clara Sipprell to visit Syracuse and New York, with a Japan trip aimed for March. The Women’s Professional group reports proceeds from a Christmas fashion show funding a student loan fund, featuring Burr and Burton participants and period costumes.
