Globe Union Battery workers face union vote December 16
Globe Union battery plant production and maintenance staff will vote December 16 on whether to be represented by the United Auto Workers. About 100 eligible employees will weigh representation by the UAW or no representation, under an NLRB supervised process. The UE party withdrew, leaving a UAW versus no representation ballot. The vote order followed an NLRB hearing in Bennington November 4 and a regional director ruling on who may vote. Plant Manager James D. Williams said he expects the election to settle the matter swiftly.
