Reflectors on Moon May Boost Earthquake Science
UPI reports Dr. James E. Faller of Wesleyan University envisions using the Laser Ranging Retro-Reflector Package on the moon to study earth movements and potentially predict earthquakes. A 100 reflector array, tested with a powerful laser from Lick Observatory, marks the first success in returning light, enabling future gravitation experiments and seismic insight.

Erosion Claims Cape Cod Outer Beach on Cape Cod
Conservationists fear erosion will permanently erode the Great Outer Beach of Cape Cod as Atlantic storms strip 5.5 feet per year at Nauset Beach. Army engineers say natural forces, not human actions alone, drive nearly all shoreline loss along the East Coast, with limited options to slow the retreat.
