Kennedy Accident Accidental Fatalities Fueled By Bad Directions
Edgartown Massachusetts reports suggest Senator Edward M. Kennedy may have received faulty directions on Chappaquiddick Island the night his car left a coastal road and plunged into Poncha Pond killing Mary Jo Kopechne. Islanders note a topographical quirk at two T intersections near School Road and Wasque Road that could mislead drivers, though Kennedy said he intended to take the ferry from Chappaquiddick to Edgartown. Local residents recount talk of bum directions and caution that Wasque Road is dusty and winding, with some witnesses noting sightings of Kennedy at a local beach club prior to the tragedy.
