Lumber truck crash kills driver at Searsburg curve
A lumber laden eastbound tractor trailer ran out of control on Route 9 near Searsburg Mountain at 1 35 PM injuring six others and killing 30 year old John R McDonough of Schuylerville NY. He died of massive internal injuries after being trapped for over an hour. The accident marks the fifth death on that highway segment in less than a year.

Dorset Landslides Vast Yet Mildly Damaging Event
Four enormous slides in a north Dorset mountain basin the largest in Vermont history were driven by heavy rain last week. Officials and a U.S. Forest Service soil scientist inspected the area near Jackson Hollow in Manchester.
