Bennington Rally Signals Era of New Politics

At Mt. Anthony Country Club nearly 200 Bennington area attendees embraced a new politics mood. The event mixed Democrats Republicans Independents and activists with a boutique selling McCarthy era memorabilia and a nontraditional program where dignitaries mingled with the crowd. Greenberg Wins Auction for Former VW Garage in Bennington

Norman H. Greenberg of Bennington topped bidders yesterday at a public auction ordered by the Small Business Administration. He offered 82,000 dollars for the former Volkswagen Garage on North Bennington Road, with the purchaser assuming about 3,000 dollars in 1968 taxes. The site, valued at 88,500 dollars, drew one other bid from a Lindholm Motors, Inc. representative of Rutland. Greenberg said he hasn’t decided final use for the property, noting he has two or three ideas but no firm plan.
