Aderhold University of Georgia president and three athletic Board members have testified they believe former coach Wally Butts has a bad character. Several More athletic Board members were prepared to take the stand today in the Federal court trial of Butts $10-Rnillion libel suit against the Curtis publishing co. The suit resulted from football fix charges against Butts by the saturday evening Post published by Curtis. Aderhold said wednesday that Butts business interests had interfered with his duties As athletic director prior to his resignation feb. 28. The Stocky Butts who spent 21 years As head coach at Georgia and then 2v2 years As just athletic director resigned the Day after he was confronted with charges that he fed data on his team to coach Paul Bear Bryant of Alabama. In his testimony Butts said he resigned to avoid embarrassment to the University. When asked his opinion of Butts character aderhold said a i would say its the 58-year-old Butts sat impassively. Aderhold started to comment further but was stopped by judge Lewis r. Morgan who ruled that no specifics could be discussed. Similar testimony about Butts character was Given by prof.
