Water Board Approves New Service Connection Form
The Bennington Water Board adopted a standardized water service application last week. Copies are available in the village clerk’s office for new connections and expansions. The form requires property location, main connection point, line size and length, building type, and fixtures to be serviced, with multiple approvals and attached drawings. The effort aims to replace improvised procedures and ensure compliance with zoning and material standards.

Board Calls 18 Year Olds For Exams In Vermont
Van Vechten B. Graves, chair man of Selective Service Local Board No. 2 in Bennington, says the county has begun ordering 18 year old registrants for full physical exams. The move aligns with President Johnsons January plan to pre screen out of school registrants to aid education, vocational, or medical aid and does not imply imminent induction. Graves notes current practice of calling older registrants for induction remains unchanged. In Vermont, average voluntary induction age sits between 21 and 22.
