Junkyard charges await action in Arlington case
Bennington courts have taken no further action on two alleged junkyard violations by Stuart W. Thompson of Warm Brook Road Arlington. In June Arlington filed a complaint in Bennington Superior Court charging an illegal junkyard with unregistered vehicles and scrap material visible from the highway. Thompson, who has since moved some vehicles, asks for a detailed list of complaints and notes he bought only one car since 1973. He pleaded not guilty July 21 in Bennington District Court to storage of scrap within sight of a public highway and was released on $100 bail. A pre trial conference and trial date have yet to be set.
